OUT OF TIME
Out of Time takes the viewer on a journey between stillness and motion through the moving image, suggesting the varying rhythms of duration that exist through a Bergsonian sense of “lived time”. The triptych also endures through time symbolically through changes between interior and exterior, day to night, and stillness and motion, with use of these dichotomies, as symbolic of the ever-changing flow between the past and the present. Just as lived time is always a constant simultaneous flow of the past/future and the present moment, our memories exist in the same way. Movement through space implies the distance in time between one moment and another, moments of stillness become reflective moments.
